Sig Sauer, after pumping millions over the past few years into the Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapon, or NGSW, program is trying to get some of that back with a commercial model of the 6.8mm rifle that may, possibly, get the nod from Uncle Sam to replace the M4.
This gives us the Sig MCX-Spear (as in “tip of the”) in .277 Fury (because folks don’t like metric and Fury sounds badass). Priced at $7,999, it looks great and will reportedly be able to swap to 7.62 NATO and 6.5CM with a barrel change. The sad news for most is that it is an SBR, only having a 13-inch barrel.
Pro-shooter Lena Miculek posted a clip on IG showing her getting pushed around by a full-tilt MCX-Spear of the spicy variety, which is surely what folks really want
