While Sig Sauer has been busy with the P365 series, Taurus has been right alongside that top-shelf company with the solidly mid-shelf G3C line, which is almost the same size and very dependable– as we have pointed out— but runs significantly less in asking price.
Where are we going with this? Well, Taurus just released the G3XL, which does for the G3C what the P365XL did for the standard P365. The “XL” denotes that it runs a little longer along the top half, as it carries over the G3’s proven full-size slide and barrel assembly.
For what? The longer 4-inch barrel (compared to the G3C’s stubbier 3.27-inch barrel), working with the slide’s long sight radius, gives better accuracy and adds a skosh of velocity for increased terminal performance.
The G3XL retains the G3C’s compact grip frame, complete with 12+1 magazines. The asking price is under $350.
