The latest in this week’s gun news brings us a slick new pistol from Sig Sauer, the biggest gun gathering in the country and a sweet new rifle scope.

Sig Sauer P320 AXG PRO

Billed as the first full-sized pistol in the metal-framed P320 AXG family that Sig Sauer has been slowing releasing over the past year, the P320 AXG PRO model has a Pro-Cut Nitron-treated stainless steel slide over a black anodized stainless steel AXG Grip module. With a 4.7-inch barrel, the pistol runs an 8.2-inch overall length, almost the size of a M1911 Government Issue. Weight is 35.4-ounces because of the lightening cuts and lightweight Hogue G10 grip panels.

“The modern features and modularity of the P320 platform combined with the performance and feel of a metal frame offers a truly special shooting experience,” says Sig.

The pistol comes standard with X-RAY3 day/night sights and a detachable magwell. It ships with a trio of 17-round steel mags.

2021 NRA Show Back On

After skipping their originally scheduled 149th Annual Meeting and Exhibits last year in Nashville, Tennessee due to the round after round of nationwide shutdowns, the National Rifle Association is set to hold their 150th meeting in Houston on Sept. 3-5.

The event will take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center over Labor Day Weekend and is set to have some 800 exhibitors “over 14 acres of the latest guns and gear from the most popular companies in the industry.” As such, it gives access to a SHOT Show-scale firearms exhibition that is more accessible to the average consumer.

NRA members and their family get in free and walk-up registration will be available on-site. In terms of scale, the last NRA Show that went off, in 2019, had some 80,000 attendees.

New Venom 5-25x56 FFP

New Venom 5-25x56 FFP

Wisconsin-based Vortex Optics is launching their all-new First Focal Plane reticle scope, the Venom 5-25×56 FFP. For those with questions, the reticle type ensures subtensions are accurate throughout the wide 5x to 25x range while the wide 34mm tube and 56mm objective lens gathers light well and sets up shots out to 1,000 yards and beyond.

The new Venom 5-25×56 FFP is a significant piece of glass, running 15.3 inches long and hitting the scales at 35 ounces. It has 1/4 MOA adjustments on the exposed tactical turrets and allows a windage and elevation range of 85 MOA. MSRP is $699.

Check out the below Vortex video comparing the new Venom with their Strike Eagle and Diamondback riflescopes.
