Missouri’s CMMG has announced a new AR pistol format that drops the need for a receiver extension or buffer tube.

The new series, dubbed the Dissent line, will be available in 5.56, .300BLK, and 5.7x28mm, with each model sporting a 6.5-inch free-floated barrel with a 5.5-inch M-LOK handguard. Overall, this means a very compact PDW-style firearm that has an overall length of just 14.7 inches.

That’s even shorter than Kel-Tec’s PLR16 (largely because the KelTec runs a 9-inch barrel) or Maxim’s MD-1505 (which has an SCW or CQB brace), so it is eye-catching if you want something for the short space.

Price is a Gucci $2K, meaning you are going to have to cough up the cash to go small.
